History
Here is the history of The San Diego Sailors. The Sailors were established in 2007.
The OIF2 Properties, San Diego Sailors and it's members teams are not affiliated, sponsored or associated with the Arena Fooball League or any of its member teams.
2007
San Diego was granted an Internet Indoor Football Team on July 23 2007. The Sailors became the name of the new team because of San Diego's huge naval presence. The Sailors played their games at Cox Arena at SDSU. The year 2007 was the first and last for the IIFL as the season was cut short from 16 to 12 games. The Sailors only played 11 games because they had their bye week before the rest of the season was cancelled. San Diego's inaugural season was a winning one with a 7-4 record. The Sailors finished second place in the Western Conference and had the fourth overall best record in the league.
